The main objective of the game is to plant and take care of trees of different classes and distinct attributes by watering and fertilizing them and collecting O2 (oxygen) released. Since every tree in Project Forest is an NFT, graded by different qualities and classes, the O2 production varies.
As you enter the game, you are in a big garden with many soil pits, a green '+' sign hovering on top of a few, while the rest have 'Available' written on a wooden post. The pits with the green '+' are the first free pits provided by Project Forest to its beta players.
Click on the '+' icon and get redirected to the backpack, from where you can choose from a variety of distinct trees to plant. Trees in Project Forest can ONLY be planted in soil pits. Since you have five free slots initially, you can plant five trees of your choice. Next, water your new trees and use fertilizers to boost their growth. Soon, your new trees will start releasing O2 tokens for you to collect. Collect O2 and buy more resources to boost the growth of your already-planted trees, or save up O2 and unlock more soil pits to plant more trees.
