Players can use fertilizers to upgrade trees. Different levels of fertilizers have different upgrade times and cooldowns. Currently, there is only one kind of fertilizer available (Small Fertilizer) with an absorption cooldown of six hours.
There are two ways of using fertilizers in Project Forest. Players can fertilize trees by using the one-click feature, which will fertilize all trees in the garden simultaneously, or by separately fertilizing each tree. Through the latter, players will click on each tree and click the 'Fertilizer' icon to fertilize each tree individually.
After clicking the fertilizer icon, the system will first analyze whether the particular tree needs fertilizers or not. When there is a fertilizer activated on a tree, a fertilizer icon will be displayed on the interface before the tree. This bar will indicate the total time remaining for the fertilizer to be fully consumed.
Similarly, if a tree needs fertilizing, a pop-up window will indicate so. If you have enough fertilizers in your backpack, a pop-up window will confirm whether to apply the fertilizers to the tree. However, if you have insufficient fertilizers in your backpack, a pop-up window will prompt you to purchase the number of fertilizers and show the total cost. If the O2 required is sufficient, you can complete the transaction. Once purchased, tap the fertilizer icon again, and the same pop-up window will confirm whether to apply the purchased fertilizers to the tree.
